The Origin of the Fair

As the innovation and opening developed faster and faster in mid 1980s, economic information collection and transfer became one of the most important tasks of the government. In order to strengthen this aspect and to meet the demand of national plant protection system for plant protection information, with the Information Department taking the lead, the former National Plant Protection Station of the Agriculture Ministry associated with all provincial plant protection stations and some plant protection stations and companies of civic level and set up the national plant protection information network in 1985.

In the same year, the board of the National Plant Protection Information Network decided to hold the 1st National Plant Protection Information Exchange & Pesticide and Machine Trade Fair as an important measure for plant protection information collection and transfer. The fair invited national plant protection stations and pesticide and machine manufacturing companies and proved to be influential, which earned attention and focus from departments of agriculture, chemistry, etc. Since then, the fair is held annually with the influence and scale expanding year by year, which creates huge economic and social benefits and is popular at large.

Main activities of the Fair：
1. Notify primary diseases, prevention and cure of crops;
2. Exchange the demand and supply information of the pesticide and machine market;
3. Organize all kinds of subject reports;
4. Exchange the research and development trends of new products;
5. Exhibit new breeds, new arts and technics;
6. Organize business negotiation between manufacturers and traders.

The historical meaning of the Fair

1. Promote the innovation of the material circulation of pesticide and machine, change the old system of “single channel, multiple processes” to “multiple channels with less processes” which better answers for the market economy.
2. Promote the innovation and development of plant protection and buildup the competitivity of plant protection system.
3.Accelerate the research and population of new products through a variety of information exchange and the activities of the Fair. The technical outcomes translate into productivity faster.
4. The manufacturers and traders meet in the Fair face to face, which help the manufacturers better know the demand of the market and arrange production more properly. The manufacturers, traders and end users know each other better and cooperate better.
